1What Is the cost of a home inspection?
Our inspections start as low as $375 and increase based on the square footage and age of the home. We offer discounts when additional items are added to the home inspection, such as radon, termite, and well inspections.
2How long will the inspection take?
Home inspections generally take about 45 minutes to 1 hour per 1000 sf.
3Do I need to attend the inspection?
Although not required, it is always highly recommended to find time to join the home inspector at the end of the inspection. Upon inspection completion, our inspectors take time to thoroughly explain all the findings on a home and ensure there are no questions prior to the report being sent out. We also offer zoom calls if a client is unable to attend in person.
4What Is covered under this inspection?
The inspection covers a wide range of structural & mechanical systems of the home, from the roof to the foundation and everything in between. Please refer to the standard of practice to get a specific layout on what is in the scope of a standard home inspection. View the Statutes and Rules
5How much experience does the inspector have?
Our inspectors are licensed in NC and/orSC and also have their radon certification. ClearVUE is proud to have inspectors who understand the building process that help buyers better understand their findings and the method of repair.
6Does a newly constructed home need an Inspection?
A newly constructed home needs an inspection just as much as an existing structure, if not more. Considering how fast homes are being built these days, it is strongly recommended that not only a final home inspection be performed, but also a pre-drywall inspection during the building process.
7Can a home fail an inspection?
No, the home inspection is not a pass or fail determination. It is performed to determine the condition of the home at the time of the inspection. During that time, any hazardous or unsafe conditions are reported.
8Why is radon testing important?
The reason testing is important is because excessive levels inside the home can lead to health problems. Testing for radon is a very simple task and can be done easily during the course of the home inspection. With improvements in today's testing methods, radon can be detected and mitigated fairly easily. It is a small price to pay compared to the associated health risks of living in a home with high levels of radon.
9Does a standard inspection cover a radon test?
A radon test is an additional service that we can perform either at the same time as the inspection, or as a stand alone service. Please note that we offer package pricing if done together.
10Can I do the inspection myself?
You must be a licensed home inspector to conduct a home inspection. A do-it-yourself inspection is not considered valid in a real estate transaction. Our inspectors are trained to know the ins and outs of a home and help point out potential hazards that someone could easily miss.
11How much does a termite inspection cost?
Our termite inspections are $89 for homes under 5000 sf, and $125 for larger homes when scheduled with the home inspection. You also offer termite inspections without the purchase of a home inspection for an individual rate.
12What is a pre-listing inspection?
A pre-listing inspection is an inspection paid for by the current owner of a home prior to listing their home for sale. This allows the seller to be aware of any issues that must be addressed prior to listing the home. A pre-listing inspection also shows potential buyers that the seller has taken the initiative to address issues and is listing their home in good faith.
